As an origin for coffee – let alone specialty coffee – China remains relatively unknown in the UK. Over the past two years, however, a small number of roasters here have begun to showcase a range of increasingly high-quality coffees from Yunnan province, a region in the Southwest of China long renowned for its exquisite tea.
Join us for a presentation by Tim Heinze, co-founder and CEO of Yunnan Coffee Traders. Over the past decade, Tim and his team have worked with indigenous farmers to improve growing practices and processing techniques in order to bring their finest coffees to the world stage. He will provide an overview of the region and its people, the unique terroir and climate of Yunnan and, most importantly, its coffee. This will be followed by a cupping of the best of this season’s lots, due to be brought into the UK later this year by Indochina Coffee – a small, independent importer based right here in London.
